RENE CARAYOL - PROFILE
APR 07 by ILN

René Carayol is an internationally renowned business guru and media personality.

René is the presenter of BBC2's flagship business programme, Pay Off Your Mortgage In 2 Years, which was aired in January and February 2006 and again in early 2007. He has also presented the critically acclaimed documentary for Channel 4 on the challenges that faced Lord Stevens at the helm of the Metropolitan Police and the prominent BBC series Mind of a Millionaire.

He is the bestselling author of the influential Corporate Voodoo and My Voodoo books, a frequent voice on Radio 5 Live, a regular fixture reviewing the press on Sky News, a former Non-Executive Director of the Inland Revenue and a former Director of IPC Media and Pepsi.

René has provided leadership support to the likes of the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit, the Home Office and McKinsey and Co, and is now an accomplished Visiting Professor at Cass business school. In 2004 he was awarded an MBE for outstanding service to the business community.

He has chaired and addressed conferences across the world in every business sector and has conducted live onstage interviews with influential faces ranging from Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev and Colin Powell to Sven-Göran Eriksson, Sir Bob Geldof and Sir Richard Branson.

He asks awkward and uncomfortable questions. How do you change old-fashioned, risk-adverse processes that are ill suited to emerging global markets? How do you secure and nurture talents of a new generation of managers and staff? How do you overcome cynicism and complacency, and replace them with resolve?

René's messages are practical, and presented with electrifying effect. He both shakes up and inspires his audiences, showing them what lies within their grasp.
